Lavandin is a hybrid plant, the result of a natural cross-pollination of true lavender and spike lavender. The flowers have a woody, spicy-green, floral aroma with a hint of camphor. Lavandin is a popular substitute for true lavender in potpourris and herbal crafts.
Soothing, calming and balancing, lavender is used in all types of personal care and aromatherapy products.
Note that while lavender flowers are often mixed with lavandin (or in some cases lavandin is sold as lavender), these are true lavender flowers, tested with gas chromatography to insure 100 percent purity.
For a soothing herbal bath that refreshes the skin and the spirit, tie lavender flowers in a cheesecloth and hang from the tub faucet, allowing the water to run directly over the herbs.
