Essential Living Foods' drive to provide great nutrition from organic, heirloom crops while helping small farmers with fair trade practices provided the impetus to cultivate these extraordinary goldenberries. A project was set up in the Cotacachi area in the North of Ecuador to grow these beautiful, complex-flavored fruits for us. Now the farmers in this region can rely on a stable source of income – well above usual market rates – and don’t have to work with potentially dangerous pesticides and fungicides.
